Maduro announced agreement between Bronx Youth Orch. and Simón Bolívar System
The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, announced the signing of an agreement between the Orchestra of Children and Youth of the Bronx community, UpBeat NYC, and the National Orchestra System Simón Bolívar. He noted that the experience of the system has allowed that not a single child within it is linked to crime, as a result of that “it traps the soul, the heart, and transmits them values to fight for life.”
“The System has almost 500,000 children, it is important to say that we are going to a million, it is a system that truly is a miracle, founded by Maestro José (Antonio) Abreu, now led by a set of special maestros, including Gustavo Dudamel”, he said.
During his participation in the meeting with the social movements of New York, he extended an invitation for the Orchestra to travel to Venezuela in a month, to share with the Orchestra System and thus concrete an agreement of work, cooperation and partnership.
“I make a formal invitation for these youngsters to go to Caracas as soon as possible and learn from the inside the experience of our Simon Bolivar Orchestras system”, he said.
