Enjoy performances by young musicians from local El Sistema-inspired programs. Inspired by the world-renowned Venezuelan music program that transforms young people’s lives through music, our local network of community music programs provides musical opportunity to local children and youth. Share in the holiday spirit with family and friends in this afternoon of music and fun!

Doors open at 3pm. Concert 4pm-5:30pm. First come, first served.

UpBeat NYC's 2015 Winter Concert will present musical performances by 150 South Bronx children and youth in various ensembles including UpBeat's Youth Orchestra, Jazz and Latin Music Big Band and Children's String Orchestra. Repertoire will include music by Chano Pazo, Dizzy Gillespie, Arturo Márquez and Georges Bizet.
Come out to celebrate and support the burgeoning musical lives of Mott Haven's children and families!

Join us this Sunday for an historic outdoor public event featuring El Sistema's National Youth Orchestra of Caracas. An amazing ensemble of 160 Venezuelan youth ages 16-24 will perform an exciting program of classical and Latin American orchestral repertoire guaranteed to inspire audiences of all ages.
This is the same orchestra that will be performing next week at the United Nations for the UN's 70th Anniversary.
All of us here at UpBeat are particularly excited about this event as it marks the first time a Venezuelan symphony orchestra will perform in the Bronx, giving our community a unique opportunity to experience the beautiful possibilities of social action through music that have been realized in Venezuela and are beginning to take shape in the U.S. through programs like UpBeat NYC here in the South Bronx.
