Job Opportunities

Position: Instrumental Teaching Artist positions open for the following instruments: Flute, Oboe, Trombone, French Horn.

Start Date: September, 2022.

Location: South Bronx, New York, NY.

Description: Community music education program for underserved NYC children.

Time Period: September 2022 - June 2023 (with opportunity to continue the position).
2-3 days/week, 6-8 hours/week.

Duties:
Lead beginner and intermediate classes and lessons with children ages 8-14 years old. Possibility of leading mixed instrumentation wind ensembles for candidates with interest and comparable experience. Coordinate with directors and other program instructors regarding teaching philosophy, pedagogy, classroom management.

Qualifications:
- Extensive music teaching experience with groups of young children.
- Excellent ability to deal well with a wide range of student abilities.
- Enthusiastic, flexible, patient and positive demeanor.
- Experience working collaboratively within a team.
- Experience leading wind ensembles a plus.
- Spanish a plus.


This position requires a high level of commitment to UpBeat's mission of social justice through musical experience and music education.

Compensation: $60/hr
